Wedding bar sign ideas are one of my favorite ways to add a personalized detail to a wedding reception without completely blowing the décor budget. Whether you’re serving signature cocktails, beer and wine, or a full bar, a beautiful wedding bar sign can help guests see what’s available while also tying your bar area into the rest of your wedding décor.
As I’m planning my own wedding, I’ve realized how much the smaller details can bring the overall look of a reception together. What Is a Wedding Bar Sign?
A wedding bar sign is a decorative sign displayed at or near your reception bar. It can be as simple as a sign that says “The Bar,” or it can function as a complete wedding bar menu showing guests the cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks available.
You can also use your sign to showcase your signature cocktails, which is one of my favorite ways to make the bar feel a little more personal.
What to Put on a Wedding Bar Sign
What you include depends on what you’re serving and how much information you want to give your guests.
Some wedding bar sign ideas include:
- Signature cocktail names
- Cocktail ingredients
- A complete wedding bar menu
- Beer and wine selections
- His & Hers signature drinks
- A favorite cocktail for each partner
- A fun cocktail quote
- An illustration of your pet alongside a signature drink
- Non-alcoholic drink options
- A simple “The Bar” or “Cheers” sign
If you’re serving signature drinks, I especially love including the ingredients underneath each cocktail name. Guests can quickly decide whether it’s something they’d like to try without having to ask the bartender what’s in it.
My Signature Drink Wedding Bar Sign
For my wedding bar sign design, I wanted something that felt elegant, classic, and personalized without making the bar area feel too busy.
I chose to feature two favorite cocktails — a Cosmopolitan and an Old Fashioned — along with the ingredients for each drink. The soft blue details and simple cocktail illustrations give the sign some personality while still keeping the overall design clean.
One of the reasons I love this style is that you can easily customize it to match your own wedding. Change the names, signature drinks, ingredients, colors, and other details to coordinate with your reception.

Wedding Signature Drink Sign Ideas
You don’t have to stick with traditional “His & Hers” cocktails, either.
You could feature each partner’s favorite drink, name cocktails after your pets, create drinks inspired by places you’ve traveled together, or give classic cocktails personalized names.
For example, an espresso martini could become “The Perfect Match,” while a margarita could be named after your dog.
This is one of those wedding details where you can really make it your own.
How to Display a Wedding Bar Sign
Once you’ve created your wedding bar menu, how you display it can completely change the finished look.
For a classic wedding, I love the look of a simple gold tabletop frame. For a modern wedding, an acrylic sign holder can look beautiful. A small wooden or metal easel can also work well if you want the sign to stand on its own.
Try placing your sign alongside a few coordinating details such as flowers, candles, cocktail napkins, or other reception décor to make the bar feel like an intentional part of your wedding design.
What Size Should a Wedding Bar Sign Be?
For most reception bars, 5×7 or 8×10 signs are easy to display without taking up too much valuable bar space.
An 8×10 sign gives you more room if you’re listing multiple cocktails and ingredients, while a 5×7 can work beautifully for a simple signature drink sign.
If you have a larger bar menu with beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options, you may want to consider an 11×14 sign.
When Should You Make Your Wedding Bar Sign?
You can design your wedding signage fairly early, but I would wait to print the final version until your drink selections and bar menu have been confirmed.
Once you know exactly what your venue or bartender will be serving, double-check the spelling of each cocktail and ingredient before sending your sign to print.
It’s a tiny step that can save you from having to reprint your wedding signage later.
